we're excited to announce....

well, the news is out!!

we're expecting our third and IT'S A BOY!!

we've kept it to ourselves (mostly)

and after 20 weeks we're ready to shout it out loud!

the wiezbowski's are finally having a boy! hooray!

jill's wedding

steve's sister, jill was married yesterday.

congratulations, jill & sean!!

the ceremony was beautiful and the reception was absolutely amazing! the decorations turned out perfect

and the food was delicious!

great job, angi and mom!

i don't have any pictures yet from the wedding or reception, but i wanted to post some quick pics of the girls in their dresses.

enjoying the fruits of our labor {literally}

we've had two little strawberries ripen on our plants in the past couple of days and the girls have been dying to pick them. here they are enjoying the delicious taste of home-grown strawberries.

the only drawback to growing your own food is the waiting game. after her little bite of strawberry, megan kept begging me to let her pick some more. of course, those were the only two ripe enough to pick,....so sorry, meg! you'll just have to keep waiting!

steve has been craving this amazing device

for the past year and a half.

seriously, this thing is his new baby and i hope it doesn't last long...because this infatuation has grown to immense proportions!

we'll stevo,....eat your fill. because this "puppy love" won't last long and then you're all mine!!

gardening: our first attempt

Garden: n.{ A plot of land used for the cultivation

of flowers, vegetables, herbs, or fruit. }

i have been feeling really strongly lately to
1) get caught up with our food storage supply
and 2) start a garden.

here is our first attempt at planter gardening since we only have an 8' X 15' plot of cement. we've actually had them for a few weeks now and the girls have really enjoyed seeing the "fruits of our labor." they absolutely LOVE watering and caring for our "baby plants" every day. so far the only plants we have are cherry tomatoes and strawberries but it's been really satisfying to know that we get to eat food from our own garden soon.

President Who??

this story is about katelyn....

two weeks ago at church, katelyn's sunday school teacher was telling the children stories about our previous prophets. one of her questions to the class was "who is the president of our church?" katelyn happily raised her hand to answer what she thought was a very simple question. after calling on her, however, the teacher was in for a very big surprise.....

katelyn's response was "President Obama!"

ha, ha! my sweet little girl has been paying very close attention to the recent presidential election and we are so proud of her! it's just too bad that we've had changes made to BOTH presidencies around the same time.

kids definitely say the darndest things. :)

WHO HAS A SNUGGIE??....WE DO! :)

every saturday morning while watching cartoons,

katelyn loves to preview the seasonal merchandise

advertised during weekend infomercials.

after eyeballing the "snuggie"

(a blanket you can wear around the house with sleeves and everything!)

for quite some time,

steve and i suggested she save up

her chore money to buy one for herself....

and she did!!

here she is...enjoying her newly acquired snuggie

with her own spending money!

world's strongest man! (...keep reading)

last night while the girls were getting their pajamas on,

steve asked me to carry him down stairs (joking of course).

apparently he was VERY tired.....;-)

anyway, i answered him by telling him i wasn't strong enough.

(a very honest statement.)

immediately afterwards, katelyn said,

"dad, you're the only one with muscles! mom can't carry you!"

ha, ha! what a sweetie!

i guess she's going to grow up thinking

the same thing of steve that i thought of my dad...

he's the biggest and strongest man in the world!....
until i got married. :)

lego-maniac!!

with katelyn at preschool for three mornings out of the week,

megan and i have had more time for just the two of us.

one of her favorite things to do lately is play with her legos.

she likes to make towers out of the same color

and then break them apart.

when we're finished playing, she loves to sing

the "clean up song" as she puts them away.

we probably play with these legos about three times a day;

once in the morning, once after naptime, and again after dinner.

this girl loves legos!!

another first....

katelyn has been extremely excited for this day to come.

actually, this event took place yesterday

but she's been talking it up for the last few weeks.

along with starting a new year of preschool,

my little girl is now a gymnast!

i signed her up with "jamie's all-stars" a few weeks ago

and she just had her first class yesterday.

she came home doing backbends, handstands,

cartwheels and more! we are so excited for her

and can't wait to see more from our talented girl.!

katelyn's new accomplishment....

a few weeks ago, i came across this adorable little shoe
while browsing through the dollar store.
it's made out of plastic and thick foam board
and comes complete with a cute, pink, shoe string.
i purchased it not knowing how soon we'd be using it
but sure that it would prove itself useful in the future.

well, not only did it come in handy
as a great boredom buster today,
but katelyn has learned something new!!

she can tie her own shoes!!
(by the way, this seriously took her only 10 minutes to learn!!!)

megan's birthday cake

megan was a very lucky girl this year! :)

she had two of her very own birthday cakes!

one with steve's family

(we didn't get pictures with the cake),

and one with my family.

my family came back from california last night

so we celebrated meg's birthday this evening

and took some great pictures.

alison's mission call

my little sister, alison, opened her mission call last night.
congratulations, al!! i love you!

i'm so excited and happy for her.

and although we're going to miss her terribly,

i know she's going to make a fabulous missionary.

i am so proud of alison and the choices she made

to get to this wonderful time in her life.

she is such a sweet and caring person

and i know the people she's going to be serving

will be truly blessed to have her.

alison will be serving in the bolivia, santa cruz mission

and reports to the provo, ut missionary training center

on october 29, 2008.

we love you, alison!!

happy birthday, megan!!

today is my sweet meg's 2nd birthday!

here are some snapshots of her in her first two years (in reverse).

it was very hard to single these out

and i'm sure i missed some really good ones.
she is such a special and wonderful little girl.

i'm so thankful that she was sent to our family.

we love you so much megan!!

my "technically savvy" girl

i definitly agree with the statement that

future generations will continue to become

more technical than their parents before them.

but that's just the beginning,...

last night, katelyn called steve into the office

to have him look at the picture she was coloring.

he walked in to find her at the computer

and on a website that she frequently

visits to color disney princesses.

this time, however,

she was printing the picture in

black and white and had manuvered

through each and every new window that popped up.

i had recently shown her how to do this,

but i didn't think she'd remember every step that it took

to print in only black and white.

i'm amazed and excited when i see my little girl take risks

on her own to discover new ways to do things.

she is such a talented and special girl

and i'm so lucky that she's mine!

my girls absolutely LOVE to have their nails painted!

the other night after their baths, i told katelyn that i had a surprise for them. when they found out that i was going to paint their nails, they both started jumping up and down and getting very excited! here is the end result.

she asks me daily if she can get out her colors to paint.
and WOW is this girl an artist!
